After seeing this thread, I thought it was worth reminding OzBargainers (especially with Black Friday coming) that you can request a price match at the Google Store.
Price matches are available after you make your Google Store purchase, so if you find a better deal during the standard return window, we’ll refund the difference.
Refunds can be processed as soon as your product ships.
The following conditions apply:
- Up to 2 refunds per customer per model.
- You must make your request within the standard return period.
- Online pricing must be in the same currency as the currency used to purchase the qualifying product on Google Store.
- The advertised price must be for the same model (same color and memory, if applicable).
- The advertised price must still be in effect when the adjustment is requested (if Google Store is out of stock, no rain checks apply).
- You must provide a live, publicly accessible link to the promo or webpage that verifies the price. PDFs, screenshots, pictures, or individual price quotes are not accepted.
- For phones, price match is available for Unlocked models only. We’re unable to match pricing for carrier models.
- Excludes: Contract mobile phones or financing deals; special daily or hourly deals; pre-order or trade-in offers; wholesale, special business, members-only, or educational pricing; mail-in, coupon, or gift card offers; pricing errors; product bundles or items at no charge; bundled services or support; clearance, open box, refurbished, or pre-owned items; and products shipped or sold by third-party sellers on competitor’s website.
- If we suspect fraud or unauthorized reseller activity, Google reserves the right to decline a price match.
They price match with Bunnings, Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks and The Good Guys.
What qualifies under our price protection policy?
If you make a purchase on Google Store and the Google Store price decreases within the standard return period, you may be eligible for a partial refund to match the lower price. The following conditions apply:You must make your request within the standard return period.
If a lower price is the result of a promotion on Google Store and eligibility requirements are indicated in that promotion’s terms and conditions, you must meet all of them prior to making a price protection claim. Promotion terms and conditions are typically found at the bottom of the Google Store page.
If you received a promotional price on your original purchase, price protection doesn't apply for any Google Store promotion launched subsequent to your purchase.
